The Associate Vice President for Strategy and Operations is seeking a Project Manager DFA Strategy and Operations. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Strategy and Operations, the Project Manager for DFA Strategic Initiatives is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional projects that support the Division of Finance and Administration’s strategic transformation and alignment with Oregon State University’s strategic plan. This role is essential in executing strategic priorities—including organizational change, innovation adoption, and enterprise-wide initiatives—by applying project management best practices, facilitating stakeholder alignment, and tracking progress toward measurable outcomes.

The Project Manager will partner closely with university leadership and DFA units to ensure timely and effective implementation of strategic initiatives that advance operational excellence and institutional goals.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, project management, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience managing strategic projects across complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong written, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, work across silos, and build consensus.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusive project engagement.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
  • Master’s degree in business, public administration, or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience leading organizational change or strategy execution efforts.
  • Knowledge of higher education governance, budgeting, and planning cycles.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Prosci, Lean, or Agile.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Primarily office-based. May require non-standard hours and occasional travel.
