This position is responsible for all aspects of corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance of all mechanical equipment in the plant. Performs all facets of equipment testing, troubleshooting, and repair. Technicians are expected to respond to callouts and work overtime when needed to support the operation of the plant. Technicians will be expected to learn the plant process and assist during startup of the facility.

  • High school diploma or general education degree; minimum of two years related maintenance experience; or certification program or equivalent education and experience

  • Knowledge of PC software application, including spreadsheet, word processing and database

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as periodicals, regulations and piping and instrumentation diagrams

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence accurately

  • Ability to communicate orally, including the use of a radio and group presentations

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including percentages, area, circumference and volume

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required


To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of, but not limited to, the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform the job.

  • Responsible for adhering to and supporting all company safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures
  • Responsible for the assembly, repair, and testing of equipment such as turbines, pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, tanks, vessels, piping, valves, and structures
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on bearings, seals, packing glands, shaft sleeves, wear rings, and impellers
  • Repairs and maintains equipment and machinery, in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and established codes using hand tools, power tools, shop equipment and test and analysis equipment such as micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, and dial indicators
  • Assists with Gas Turbine combustor, hot gas path, and major inspections; Steam Turbine major and minor inspections
  • Perform various weld repairs on equipment and structures. Install, repair, and replace piping including copper, steel, stainless, FRP, and PVC
  • Collects and analyzes vibration signatures on all rotating machinery
  • Corrects defects such as misalignment, imbalance, resonance, cavitation, and soft foot
  • Coordinates plant lubrication program including oil analysis
  • Performs thermography studies and corrects deficiencies
  • Performs confined space Attendant or Entrant duties as required
  • May report to Control Operator in the absence of the Maintenance Manager or as may otherwise be appropriate
  • Responsible for the completion of special tasks and projects assigned by the Control Operator, Maintenance Manager or General Manager.
