Oversees contract development and administration and manages internal and external resources for the purchase and/or development of renewable generation sites. Directs and exercises functional authority over all renewable development activities. Coordinates and implements renewable asset management. Manages completion of due diligence and develops proposals for prospective development sites and coordinates the timely acquisition and/or completion of the necessary permits, regulatory approvals, landowner easements, interconnection rights and environmental consultations related to such renewable generation developments. Administers project contracts, manages the use of consultants and has fiscal responsibility for all assigned development and asset management projects.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting or related technical field or equivalent work experience. (Six years of additional, directly related, progressive work experienced related field or equivalent work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree).

Advanced degree preferred.

Eight years of related experience, including five years project management responsibilities.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.

Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.


Manage internal and external resources in the completion of land acquisition and title policy coverage, obtaining interconnection rights, completing renewable generation resource assessments, and securing local, state and federal permits as required.

Monitor and develop strategic and operational plans for control, management and improvement of renewable energy asset management and for ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Execute tactical plans for acquisition and/or development of renewable generation sites.

Provide leadership in the due diligence process and make recommendations for site acquisition and/or development by properly identifying the risks and benefits of potential projects, including identifying the renewable resource, environment, land, interconnection and construction risks.

Plan, direct, monitor and report on all workflow aspects of the renewable energy asset management program. Assess renewable equipment health and prescribe preventative maintenance routines for critical components. Manage projects for operations and as assigned.

Participate in the negotiations for asset acquisition, site development, supply and balance of plant contracts to ensure continuity with strategic development plans.

Research and develop a formal renewable energy asset management program, and continually explore new technological solutions.
