Basic Purpose
Manages a geographic territory, region, location or cross-functional unit, which has a major impact on corporate, business unit, or organizational objectives. Establishes strategic business objectives, strategies, and plans in support of company strategic goals. Manages and allocates financial and employee resources. Responsible for selecting, coaching, and developing employees and management of employee salaries. Implements and supports company programs and policies. Typically supervises Manager-level employees.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialty from an accredited school and 10 or more years of related experience with project management, strategic development, financial oversight, and personnel development; including 5 years of direct people management experience.

Candidates that do not possess a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 14 or more years of related experience with project management, strategic development, financial oversight, and personnel development, including 5 years of direct people management experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the utility industry, applicable company policies, procedures, practices, and understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws.

Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and senior officers on policy and operational issues.

Demonstrated analytical and evaluation skills to define critical tasks and establish optimum sequence of events and identify required resources.

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.

Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. Some overnight travel required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Establishes objectives, develops and executes policy, directs and monitors resources, and recommends and oversees development or implementation of systems, programs, or processes.

•Delivers a consistent and focused operations and maintenance plan with responsibility for all work performed on the transmission and distribution facilities.

•Provides plans, processes, targets and implementation and feedback mechanisms or tools for establishing best practice operations and maintenance.

•Liaises with other business areas on the development of working relationships and agreements. The business areas include Distribution and Transmission System Investment and Asset Management, Finance, Construction and Support Services, Dispatch, Safety, Procurement, Customer Service, Natural Disaster Protection, Logistics and Transport.

•Encourages and implements processes to ensure design and construction as well as maintenance standardization.

•Develops and monitors industry and internal benchmarks to measure continuous improvements in financial and system performance.

•Guides and directs team members and communicates project objectives, parameters, status and outcomes.

•Creates a vision, communicate strategy, and effectively interface with other company leaders.

•Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

•Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility. Provides support for compliance audit activities.

•Performs related duties as assigned.
