Essential Job Duties
The Department of Finance in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance position, with a preferred specialization in Corporate Finance.

Position Responsibilities
  • Research: Develop and maintain a high-quality, impactful research program in finance consistent with the expectations of a Research 1 (R1) university.
  • Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in finance at the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels, with the ability to teach in both in-person and online formats.
  • Service: Contribute to the academic and professional community through service to the department, college, university, and relevant professional organizations.
  • Engagement: Engage collaboratively with faculty colleagues and contribute to the continued growth and academic excellence of the Department of Finance and Poole College of Management.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Candidates must currently hold a Ph.D., or will complete the requirements for the degree by Fall of 2027, in finance or a closely related field.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Qualified candidates should possess strong records in research, teaching, and service, or have the potential to achieve the same.
  • For consideration, candidates should demonstrate strong scholarly research capabilities consistent with a Research 1 university and an ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to experienced assistant professors, with an established research record and evidence of quality teaching.
