The AI Solutions Engineer within the Customer Operations Experience (COE) team is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and implementing AI-powered solutions that transform how Operations teams deliver customer value. This role sits at the intersection of technology, process, and people—translating emerging AI capabilities into scalable tools and workflows that enhance efficiency, insights, and experience across NEOGOV’s customer journey.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical fluency in AI/ML systems with deep curiosity about operational excellence, strong communication with stakeholders, and the ability to manage complex cross-functional projects from ideation to deployment. What You Will do

- Design & Build AI Solutions: Develop, deploy, and maintain AI applications—including chatbots, virtual assistants, summarization systems, and workflow automation—to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Operational Integration: Collaborate with Process Optimization, CX Tech, and Digital Journey teams to integrate AI into daily workflows, ensuring tools deliver measurable outcomes and efficiency gains.
- AI Market and Technology Research: Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks, and LLM technologies (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, vector databases) to identify opportunities for innovation and adoption.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across Customer Experience, Product, and IT to align AI initiatives with business priorities and to ensure responsible, scalable implementation.
- Project Ownership: Lead AI projects end-to-end—defining scope, timelines, success metrics, and managing execution across technical and non-technical partners.
- Data Preparation & Modeling: Curate and structure data pipelines to support AI models, ensuring quality, ethical handling, and compliance.
- Testing & Optimization: Implement robust evaluation methods to monitor AI performance, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain clear documentation, user guides, and training materials to enable team-wide adoption and transparency.
Who You Are

- Technically Skilled: Proficient in AI/ML frameworks, programming languages such as Python, and APIs; experienced with AWS, data modeling, and AI workflows.
- Operationally Minded: Understands the challenges of scaling tools across Customer Operations and can translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
- Communicative & Collaborative: Excellent communicator with the ability to explain AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence across departments.
- Project-Oriented: Skilled in project management—organizing, prioritizing, and delivering results within deadlines and constraints.
- Market-Aware: Keeps up-to-date with AI trends, ethics, and compliance, with a passion for applying new technologies responsibly.
- Analytical & Curious: Naturally investigative and data-driven; thrives in exploring problems, uncovering insights, and developing creative, effective AI-based solutions.
- Customer-Centric: Approaches all AI solutions with empathy for the end-user experience, ensuring each solution enhances the customer journey.
- Ethically Responsible: Understands bias mitigation, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
- Detail-Oriented: Balances technical rigor with clarity and precision in development, documentation, and reporting.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI or machine learning models in production environments.
- Familiarity with UI or UX design
- Familiarity with modern AI technologies and frameworks (e.g., OpenAI APIs, Anthropic, Vibe Coding, Hugging Face).
- Familiarity with building relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MicosoftSQL, MySQL, OracleDB)
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Experience collaborating in agile, cross-functional environments with product, design, and operations teams.
- Bonus: Experience working in SaaS or customer operations contexts.
