- Administrative Assistant 2Monroe Correctional ComplexFull time - Permanent, Internal (DOC) Candidates OnlyThe Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Administrative Assistant 2 (AA2) at the Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC).
The Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC) is a 1700 bed male all-custody level facility located 30 miles northeast of Seattle. Employing approximately 1200 staff, the complex consists of five major units: the Washington State Reformatory Unit (WSRU), Sky River Treatment Center (SRTC), a large mental health in patient treatment unit, Twin Rivers Unit (TRU), Intensive Management Unit (IMU), and the Minimum-Security Unit (MSU). Services provided at the Monroe Correctional Complex include custody and security, classification, education, offender work programs, health care (both patient and outpatient), mental health care, sex offender treatment, food service, maintenance, personnel, recreation, volunteer services, religious services, library services, offender records, visiting and extended family visits.

The Administrative Assistant 2 will work under the direction of the Corrections Specialist 2intheLegal Liaison's Office to perform delegated duties associated with virtual court process, which include arraignments, hearings, trials, and other court actions as supported through DOC policy heAA2 supports the agency's mission by providing timely and appropriate interactions with criminal justice partners to address necessary court actions. The AA2 reflects DOC values through professional and responsive interactions throughout our agency and with external stakeholders.
Duties:- Maintains documentation and data related to legal access requests as directed by designated personnel.
- Completes public disclosure requests.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:- Reviews requests for virtual and telephonic court actions to determine appropriate response Plans
- schedules venue for requested court interactions with incarcerated individuals
- Communicates with facility personnel regarding decided action
- Facilitates connection with courts for incarcerated individuals
- Completes electronic data tracking of legal and court action requests, as well as child dependency actions.
- Addresses correspondence related to legal access topics
- Ensures all public disclosure tasks assigned are in accordance with direction and DOC policy Completes associated documentation for Public Disclosure Unit (POU)
- Maintains required records associated with PD actions
- Completes annual training by required due dates Participates in meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:
- High School graduation or equivalent education.
- Two years of office /clerical work
- Basic computer proficiencies to include Outlook, Microsoft Teams and other related virtual platforms (Zoom, etc.), SharePoint, OMNI, etc.
- Accurate typing skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Clear understanding and commitment to DOC Core Values
- Previous experience of office administration to include strong customer service skills, strong phone skills and email etiquette.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, write clearly, concisely, and factually
- Maintain a regular and reliable attendance.
Preferred:- Knowledge of basic administrative procedure, correspondence preparation, state and departmental policies.
- Abilities to effectively direct work with others, write clearly, work with others in developing plans.
- Creative and resourceful problem solving ability.
