We are looking for someone who can own and grow strategic relationships with local government agencies across the San Francisco Bay Area—helping cities and counties modernize operations through enterprise GIS solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to public sector clients, guiding them through initiatives such as GIS strategy, system integration, data modernization, and field data collection. From improving emergency response to streamlining permitting and infrastructure management, your work will directly impact how communities operate and serve residents.

This role is primarily focused on expanding existing accounts, with a smaller—but important—focus on developing new opportunities.

The Role

You’ll manage and grow a portfolio of local government clients, helping them leverage GIS across core functions like infrastructure, permitting, emergency response, and field operations.

This is a relationship-first, expansion-focused role with a smaller new business component.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and grow relationships with city & county agencies
  • Identify expansion opportunities across departments (Public Works, Utilities, Planning, IT)
  • Lead consultative conversations around:
  • GIS strategy & modernization
  • System integration (asset management, permitting, inspections)
  • Data management & field workflows
  • Navigate public sector sales cycles (RFPs, budgets, procurement)
  • Partner with technical teams to shape solutions and close deals

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years selling into state/local government
  • Experience in GIS, geospatial, or related technology
  • Proven ability to grow existing accounts
  • Strong understanding of government buying processes
  • Comfortable selling services + solutions, not just products

Why This Role

  • High-impact work with local communities
  • True ownership of key accounts (not a transactional sales role)
  • Strong earning potential tied to account growth
  • Work with solutions that go beyond mapping—they change how cities operate
