GIS Technician / Cartographer

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year

Location: This position is in-person at our corporate headquarters at 4900 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ.

Our Denver, CO office is also an option for on-site work.

We are looking for a skilled GIS Cartographer to join our team and create high quality maps and cartographic products. You will be responsible for designing and producing cartography using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with our team of Land Advisors to produce cartographic materials for digital and print

2. Create compelling maps and visualizations using ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro

3. Maintain and update existing map products and cartographic styles

4. Design cartography and layouts for print and digital use cases

5. Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data from various sources

6. Ensure cartographic quality and apply industry best practices for symbology and labeling

7. Migrate cartographic workflows from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro

8. Automate map production tasks using ModelBuilder, Python scripting, and cartography tools

9. Collaborate with GIS analysts, researchers, and other stakeholders on cartographic design

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field

2. 3+ years experience with ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro

3. Strong knowledge of cartographic principles and techniques

4. Ability to tell stories visually through maps and graphics

5. Proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop and extensions (Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst etc)

6. Experience working with geospatial data in a production environment

7. Coding knowledge (Python, ModelBuilder) is a plus

8. Portfolio demonstrating GIS mapping skills and creativity
