The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program is a nonprofit organization recruiting and developing the next-generation wildland firefighters. The organization is dedicated to assisting firefighters incarcerated in California's Conservation Camps to become professional wildland firefighters once home. The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program is providing a pathway from California’s Fire Camps to dignified middle-class work in fire and forestry careers post-release. Their mission is to increase the supply of wildland firefighters/emergency personnel from non-traditional and underrepresented communities by providing the training, skills, and experiences needed to secure entry-level jobs/careers with relevant agencies, giving social and career supports offered through a collaboration of stakeholders. The Forestry and Fire Recruitment Program was founded in 2018 and is based in Pasadena, California, USA.
