Summary:
IASNR is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee the administrative, programmatic, and operational functions of the organization. This is a remote position offering flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to lead the day-to-day operations of a globally engaged academic nonprofit.
The Operations Manager will work closely with IASNR’s Executive Team, Editors of Society & Natural Resources, the Treasurer, conference hosts, and committees. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who is comfortable managing internal processes, supervising external contractors, and delivering results across a variety of functions—from communications and membership to conference logistics.
Major Responsibilities
- Organizational Operations: Lead and streamline IASNR’s daily operational functions and administrative workflows. Manage internal systems and coordinate contractors and vendors (e.g., web services, communications, conference planning).
- Membership: Oversee membership systems, renewals, and support.
- Communications Oversight: Ensure timely and professional execution of mass emails, newsletters, website updates, and social media outreach (directly or through contractors).
- Conference Planning & Support: Manage the logistics of IASNR’s annual conference, including contracts, budgeting, registration, scheduling, and communications. Coordinate with local hosts and committees.
- Financial Tracking & Support: Oversee financial systems for tracking revenue and payments (e.g., through PayPal), and support the Treasurer with regular financial reporting and documentation.
- Governance & Committee Support: Serve as a point of contact and administrative liaison to the Council and standing committees. Support election coordination, meetings, and documentation.
