JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Control Auditor for Utility Vegetation Management ensures vegetation management activities meet regulatory, safety, and contractual standards. This role involves conducting audits of field operations, verifying compliance with utility specifications, and providing feedback to contractors and internal teams. The auditor plays a critical role in maintaining system reliability, public safety, and environmental stewardship.

Field Audits: Inspect vegetation management work (tree trimming, pre-inspection, brush clearing, hazard tree removal) to verify compliance with utility standards and safety protocols.
Documentation: Record audit findings, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records of inspections and corrective actions.
Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, utility contracts, and environmental guidelines.
Contractor Oversight: Evaluate contractor performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective measures.
Safety Assurance: Confirm that crews follow safety procedures and best practices during vegetation management operations.
Training & Guidance: Provide feedback and coaching to contractors and staff to improve quality and consistency.
Data Analysis: Review audit data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with utility representatives, contractors, and environmental specialists to resolve issues and enhance vegetation management programs.
Carry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment at work site
Service trucks and equipment, keep trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion
Emergency Response
Perform other related duties as required or assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Active IBEW 1245 member
Degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent experience in utility line clearance
Must have ISA Arborist certification
Must have ISA Utility Specialist certification
Must be Tree Risk Assessment Qualified
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Electric Utility Vegetation Management, with at least 5 years in California.
Strong species identification and invasive species knowledge
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work independently in rugged terrain and inclement weather
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service orientation
Proficient in map navigation and Microsoft Office; GIS experience a plus
