This position is responsible for assisting the Technical Field Operations (TFO) supervisor in coordinating TFO field activities within the assigned territory and assisting the operations supervisors and managers as needed. They support Gas Control, Engineering, Major Projects, System Planning, Customer Field Operations (CFO), Compression, Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Fabrication, TFO Construction & Major Accounts.
Responsibilities
Delivering gas while maintaining a safe, reliable, compliant pipeline system.
Ensure that procedural and safety adherence is followed by all employees.
Position will be expected to make decisions and fill in when supervisors are unavailable and perform On Call duties as needed.
Oversee field technicians and direct planning and prioritizing of work assignments.
Responsible for coordinating work efforts with other company departments, contractors and individual customers.
Must have a thorough knowledge of the transmission and distribution system.
Writing and performing of Work Authorization Permits (WAP’s).
Contribute to engineering design for:
Regulator Stations
Odorization
Power Plant Stations
Large Volume Meter sets
Field Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions (SCADA)
RNG facilities
Rupture Mitigation Valve (RMG)/Main Line Valve (MLV)
Compliance responsibilities:
Critical Valve maintenance
Regulator Station maintenance
Large Volume Meter Testing
Telemetry Testing
Pipeline Odorization
Control Room Management (CRM) Regulations
Meet with local state regulators during annual state DOT audits.
Assisting in Pigging/In Line Inspection (ILI) operations.
Maintain Power Plant stations.
Maintain RNG facilities.
Maintaining pipeline Odorization equipment.
Respond to 3rd party hit/cut lines.
Working with CFO during outages, new construction, upgrades.
Technical support for CFO team.
Assist with the training of employees on an ongoing basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required/Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree
2 years related work experience
In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 2 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 7 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree
In addition to desired degree, 2 years related work experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in the use of information systems, including applications, such as Microsoft.
Able to work under tight timelines, meet deadlines, and perform in stressful conditions.
Knowledge of the gas industry and the properties of natural gas.
Knowledge of the Company’s software systems: GIS, S2K, ARM, Devonway, IRIS, MA, and corporate financial/accounting tools (Maximo, CAPS).
Knowledge of DOT 192 regulations for natural gas codes in compliance in: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.
Knowledge of the transmission and distribution system including MAOP and pressure rating of pipe.
Working knowledge of Technical Field Operation (TFO) activities: telecommunications, electronic instrumentation, SCADA installations, metering, pressure regulation, documentation and coordination of equipment, and major pipeline projects.
Understanding and knowledge to assist field Technical Field Operation (TFO) personnel with troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Mathematical aptitude.
Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate field activities.
Thorough understanding of operations and maintenance standards.
Ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated ability to make competent decisions in emergencies or under adverse conditions.
Working knowledge and understanding to troubleshoot equipment problems/issues.
