Position Summary
Console Operators provide optimum security services to the entire Duke footprint. Console Operators will be responsible for monitoring electronic security systems, physical access control systems (PACS),intrusion detection, video cameras, badge verification, and general access control.Inaddition,Operatorswillalsobetaskedwithprovidinggateaccess, receiving and reacting to large call volume, regulatory requirements, maintaining enterprise situational awareness and other duties as assigned. Responsible for ensuring the safety of Duke Energy employees and property by monitoring and responding to alarms in a prescribed manner. Maintain accurate accounts of events, create reports, gain detailed information and answer questions. Perform data entry in multiple databases; follow established procedures. Assist in general administrative work and other miscellaneous duties. Perform basic investigative functions to include video review, follow up interviews and report writing. Ability to Act in the role of Senior Console Operator performing incident report writing and distribution, key code access validation, alarm signoff, etc. Conduct planned and unplanned Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)/drone surveillance missions in support security missions. Performance of the role can be in supplement of or in place of a Senior Console Operator as needed by operations. Training to be provided.
Responsibilities
Utilize sophisticated security systems and technologies for intrusion analysis, subtle event detection, video analytics, and incident management
Manages multiple electronic access control systems to monitor and facilitate response for automated alarm systems
Interacts with corporate investigators, law enforcement, and government agencies to monitor the threat and provide the appropriate security response
Ensures regulatory compliance for access control system
Pilot Unmanned Aerial Systems(UAS),act as a Visual Observer(VO), or Payload Operator (PO) in accordance with federal, state, and local laws as well as company directives
Performs pre-mission planning, flight notifications, automation planning, pre-job briefings, risk assessments, debriefings, and post-mission reporting in accordance with the Flight Operations Manual (FOM)
Other non-flying tasks supporting the execution of UAS Missions and the continued integration of the technology at Duke Energy
Accurately reports flight time, maintenance discrepancies, and accidents in accordance with federal regulations and guidance as well as company policy
Required/Basic Qualifications
Associates degree
1 year related work experience
FAA Part 107 Pilot Certificate (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Desired Qualifications
Associates degree in Criminal Justice
In addition to desired degree, 3 years related work experience
FAA Part 107 Pilot Certificate

Driver’s license; must be able to pass background check and drug screen

Ability to work a rotating shift work schedule as described in the General Job Information section (Days, Nights, Weekends, Mandatory Overtimes, Holidays)

Specific Requirements
Ability to professionally interact with, and present to, all levels of internal and external personnel
Previous experience in Security Operations Center, large-scale dispatch operations, or commercial Unmanned Aerial systems (UAS)/drone operations
Previous experience on the following systems: Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), CCTV, Microsoft Office Suite, and any other systems used by ESCC at the time of application
