Title: Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps Individual Placements Program Coordinator
Starting Salary Range: The starting salary for this position will be in the $22.93-$23.62 range, depending on experience, education, and skills relevant to the position. Please note that the indicated starting salary range describes the range for an incumbent in this position. Most new staff generally start at the beginning of the range percentile to ensure internal salary equity.
Location: Albuquerque or Gallup, NM and Partially Remote Eligible.
This position is partial remote work eligible. In-person work must be in one of the Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps office locations.
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) is a program of Conservation Legacy. ALCC focuses on conservation service opportunities for indigenous youth, young adults, and recent-era military veterans in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona and works with other Native American communities and conservation corps across the country to provide similar opportunities. Our vision is to lead our Nations back to ecological and cultural well-being and we do this by empowering individuals to positively impact their lives, their communities, and the environment. ALCC crews are supported from operational bases in Acoma Pueblo, Albuquerque, Zuni Pueblo, Gallup, and Kykotsmovi (Hopi), with an Individual Placement program that serves the region.
The Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps Individual Placements model provides a customizable experience for partners and members alike. With leadership support from ALCC staff and partner experts, Individual Placements (IP) work collaboratively with a network of outdoor professionals to complete projects of great diversity. The Individual Placement model is designed to help members further their career paths and gain the necessary field and administrative experience to be competitive applicants to federal, tribal, private, and non-profit jobs.
Position Summary:
The ALCC Individual Placements Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing effective and efficient administrative support of individual placement and intern cohort programs within Ancestral Lands, recruiting and placing between 10-15 AmeriCorps interns per year within the geographic region served by ALCC. This position interacts with other Conservation Legacy staff on admissions processes, member tracking, and other areas of administrative support. This person will work with the ALCC IP Program Manager and ALCC IP Program Director to support and manage the IP program across the region. The ALCC IP Program Coordinator will report directly to the ALCC IP Program Manager.
Outcomes & Functions of Position:
Recruitment and Onboarding
• Attend local outreach events and volunteer opportunities.
• Assist with interviewing, selecting, and onboarding AmeriCorps Members and crew leaders.
• Participate in orientations and basic trainings for incoming participants.
Project Coordination and Training
• Work with colleagues to develop and implement training schedules, including technical trails, chainsaw, herbicide application, medical, leadership, and facilitation skills.
• Work with project partners to coordinate project logistics and technical assistance.
• Develop and maintain partnerships and standing with community and project partners, including tribal government agencies and non-profits.
• Train crew leaders and members on policies, protocols, and safety culture.
Field Support
• Mentor and supervise IPs about field work.
• Ensure risk management and program quality expectations and standards are upheld and met.
• Enforce all ALCC and CL Policies and Procedures.
• Coordinate logistics for IPs, including travel, professional development identification, uniform distribution, purchases, and reconciliation.
• Be accountable for IP photos and narrative contribution to program social media.
General Administration
• Manage multiple databases for recruitment, selection, onboarding, payroll, timesheets, and AmeriCorps information.
• Manage and maintain accurate reporting of all necessary information and complete program reports including field site visits, recruiting notes, and accomplishments.
• Assist ALCC directors and managers with end-of-year reporting, including gathering of project evaluations from partners and other data.
• Work within an established program budget; manage credit cards, receipts, and financial reporting.
• Work closely with administrative staff to ensure completion of paperwork tasks and AmeriCorps requirements to compliance standards.
• Maintain an organized operational base and assist managers to ensure health and safety compliance of workplace.
Organizational Advocacy
• Successfully engage, lead, and support a positive work environment for all within the organization and the communities we serve.
• Lead and/or participate in organizational-wide teams, projects and initiatives that support the work of the Strategic Plans goals.
• Report any potential complaints within the organization as identified in the Personnel Policy Manual.
• Assist or lead other responsibilities, as assigned.

• Minimum of 1 year of managing administrative systems in non-profit or similar organizations.
• Exhibits the ability to effectively work on teams with a variety of populations.
• Previous programmatic experience with a Corps, AmeriCorps, youth serving organization or Federal Agency highly preferred.
• Current Wilderness First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
• Experience with human resources management and admissions/hiring processes.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize.
• Self-motivated, decisive, and able to work independently.
• Flexibility, adaptability and capacity to work in a fluid, changing work environment.
• The ability to communicate effectively with all staff in the organization and to understand administrative needs as they arise.
• Insurable driving record and the ability to pass Conservation Legacy’s criminal history checks.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite applications and ability to manage information in an organizational database.
• Positive, entrepreneurial attitude and attentiveness to detail are both a definite plus.
• Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs and applications, or similar platforms.
• Ability to keep others and oneself, in remote locations, accountable to expectations.
• Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record per Personnel Policies.
• Must be able to pass the organization’s criminal history check requirements.
• Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment.
