Position Summary
The Renovation & Repair Foreman is a journey-level skilled trades professional responsible for performing and coordinating renovation, repair, and maintenance work in multi-unit residential and light commercial facilities. This position serves as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, planning support, and training to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards. Work is performed under the direction of an area supervisor and supports the mission of Housing & Dining Facilities.

Essential Job Duties:
Perform and coordinate skilled renovation, repair, and maintenance work across multiple trades including carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, flooring, and appliance repair.
Serve as a technical subject matter expert by determining appropriate repair techniques, troubleshooting building systems, and developing long-term repair strategies.
Plan, prioritize, and schedule daily work, preventive maintenance, and room or apartment turnovers to meet operational and customer service needs.
Train and support less experienced employees by providing instruction on proper methods, safety practices, and quality standards.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and University standards; use appropriate tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
Respond to emergency and after-hours service requests as required, including on-call rotations and essential services support.
Supervision:
No formal supervisory authority.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ten years of journey-level experience performing a variety of skilled construction or renovation trades.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge renovation and construction principles.
Ability to read construction drawings.
Experience working in occupied spaces.
A broad demonstration of knowledge, skills, and ability across a variety of structural trades including appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, painting, locksmithing, HVAC, flooring, and carpentry.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic mobile devices to manage workorders and communicate with team.
