Position Summary:

Operations and Grounds crew members also work part-time as Challenge Course Facilitators.

Crew members are expected to be self-motivated, use common sense, and safely operate tools and equipment. The role involves moderate to heavy lifting and requires the ability to work in all weather conditions. The diverse and essential responsibilities of the Operations and Grounds Crew ensure that the campus remains well-maintained and operational across all areas.

On the challenge course, facilitators work with a wide variety of groups leading team building initiatives, and low and high element experiences. Strong interpersonal abilities, time management, problem-solving, attention to details and safety, sound decision-making and technical skills are essential for the position.

Experience with rope systems, climbing gear, belaying, group management, and public speaking are preferred.

The ability to work independently and cooperatively is critical.

Summer season: Mid-May through Mid-August
Fall season: Mid-August to Mid-October
Located 53 miles west of Fort Collins in Bellvue, CO at 9,000 feet in a remote mountain valley
Free housing and 3 meals daily provided
Employees work a 32 – 40-hour work week with two days off each week
No pets or ESAs are permitted
No cell phone service at the Mountain Campus

Essential Job Duties:

1. The primary duties include supporting various campus functions such as the Challenge Course, Housekeeping, Dining, and Office.

2. The crew performs groundskeeping duties in the developed area, including

trails maintenance, landscaping, tree felling, wood processing, fence building, road maintenance, moving supplies and furniture, painting, and facilities maintenance as needed.

3. In addition to these responsibilities, the Operations and Grounds Crew also oversee the maintenance of 1590 acres of undeveloped land.

  • This includes fire mitigation, forest thinning, ground clearing, tree felling, making slash piles, and trails maintenance in the undeveloped areas of the campus.

4.The crew may be called upon by Facilities staff to assist with maintenance work orders and are flexible in supporting the needs of the campus as require

Conditions of Employment:

Must be willing to reside at the Mountain Campus in Bellvue, CO for the entirety of their employment.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Will be 18 years of age upon or before the first day of employment.

2. Must have the ability for moderate to heavy lifting and work in all weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous or comparable experience.

2. Valid Driver's License.

3. Experience operating typical grounds maintenance equipment and tools: Mowers, trimmers, edgers, various hand tools.

4. Previous or comparable experience in ropes systems and group management.

5. Comfortability with public speaking.

Salary Range

16.50-17.50 plus Room and Board
