| Description of Work Unit | The Utility Services work unit exists to provide, manage, operate, and maintain utility service for the University. Utilities managed by this work unit include: electric, domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm water, natural gas, steam, chilled water, and distributed heating and cooling generation. Unit activities also include master planning for utilities, design review, utility construction inspection, customer allocation, forecasting, billing, support through relevant expertise of other Facilities Management work units, and liaison with utility providers. |

This position performs installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of building steam piping systems, condensate equipment, and building hot water heat exchanger equipment. This position also assists in maintenance and repair support for all central and distributed plant and system equipment within District Energy. | Duty/Responsibility | Responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of all building-side direct steam heat and heat exchanger systems providing space heating water, including all related steam and condensate piping, fittings, traps, pressure reducing stations, accessories, and condensate moving equipment. Responsible for directly interacting and responding to customers for steam heating-related concerns. |
