CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). A Vegetation Team Technical Support – Work Crew Supervisor position is available at Schofield Barracks, HI with Colorado State University (CSU) and the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position serves as a field supervisor for vegetation management crews. The position conducts vegetation management activities in support of the Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) component of the Army’s Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, by utilizing hand tools such as brush hogs, weed trimmers, shovels, root rakes, pick axes, brush axes, and chainsaws. Work location is located on US Army Garrison Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii.

Schofield Barracks was established in 1908 to provide mobile defense of Pearl Harbor and the entire island. Located 20 miles from Honolulu on the plateau or “central valley” of Oahu between the two volcanic mountains that comprise the island, the nearly 18,000-acre installation is home to the U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii.

Work location is dependent on the needs of the partner/project/role. and requires staff to be fully in-person.

Execute day to day hand tool tasks to complete to complete vegetation management projects. Hand tools used, but not limited to shovels, root rakes, pick axes, brush axes, brush hogs, trimmers and chainsaws.

Serves as field supervisor for vegetation management work crews.

Support for tracking project tasks for monthly/quarterly reports.

The position defined will fulfill other duties and assignments as necessary to fulfill the mission and sub-missions of the ITAM program as approved by the Installation Point of Contact
