Description of Work Unit | Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center (LSC) mission – As a student-centered organization at the heart of campus, we provide programs and services that create an inclusive community and inspire active, engaged learning. As an auxiliary enterprise within the Division of Student Affairs, the LSC is nationally recognized as a premier student union, serving approximately 14,000 visitors daily and hosting more than 13,000 events each year. With an annual operating budget of $40 million, the LSC is home to nearly 125 full-time staff and 650 student and hourly employees. Key areas within the LSC include the CSU Bookstore, Campus Activities, Lory Dining Services, Human Resources & Talent Development, Marketing, Operations, Student Leadership, Involvement & Community Engagement and a variety of business and service partners. The Division of Student Affairs fosters a welcoming and sustainable campus community that supports students and staff holistically. We collaborate across the University to inspire and empower students to be active learners inside and outside the classroom, successful graduates, and engaged global citizens. We support student success through an array of services and resources including housing, dining, recreation, student government, student organizations, as well as legal, career, health, well-being, belonging, and crisis services. The Division employs 900 career staff, 2,000 student and hourly staff, and manages a budget of over $250 million. Position Summary | A signing bonus of up to $2000 may be considered for the successful candidate. Custodians have an abiding commitment to serving the diverse needs of the University community, the active promotion of an equitable and inclusive environment, and the development and enhancement of collaborative relationships. Custodians provide a clean and safe learning and working environment for students, staff, and university guests by responding to the daily cleaning needs of the Lory Student Center facilities with a focus on sustainability and customer services. Providing leadership over others. The Lead is responsible for a work unit including accountability for the use of equipment, space, and resources. Although positions follow established work processes, they have the authority to determine the procedures required to accomplish the work. Custodians use judgment on an ongoing basis to select the most appropriate technical guidelines and adapt them to develop work procedures that accomplish tasks. This position will work the overnight shift Thursday through Sunday from 1:30 pm to 12:00 am. |
