GIS Technician

This position is Full Time| 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.| $21.12 - $23.35 per hour.
Job Summary: The GIS Technician 1 will use Geographic Information System (GIS) to generate graphics and maps to support the various departments. Capture and process aerial imagery of LAT properties, active construction projects, and CNO properties.
Primary Tasks:
1. Execute operational tasks by adhering to established procedures. Take command of UAS operations, plan mapping missions, and make informed decisions to ensure safety before and during flights. Operate UAS controls and systems in compliance with aviation regulations. Capture nadir, oblique, LiDAR, and 3D imagery using UAS and aircraft platforms. Post-process aerial imagery, LiDAR, and point cloud data to produce orthomosaics and other required datasets. Ensure timely updates and sharing of imagery.
2. Analyze data from various sources to identify key themes and assess potential impacts on the business. Utilize data management systems to access relevant information as needed. Use mobile apps and GPS devices to collect field data.
3. Oversee the project review process, providing stakeholders with accurate information and recommendations at designated review points to evaluate progress and facilitate decision-making. Utilize ESRI GIS software to create, edit, import, and QA/QC geospatial data within file and enterprise geodatabases and the Enterprise GIS system.
4. Convert digital floor plans into CAD layers and develop indoor models within a file geodatabase. Ensure models conform to the Indoor Data Model, accurately reflect the physical layout, and are labeled according to their function and name. Create precise configuration files for CAD conversions.
5. Design and produce maps and layouts that align with project scope and parameters. Print high-quality maps and other geospatial products using large-format printers and laminators.
6. Provide clear and concise information to customers or service users within your area of responsibility.
7. Use coordinate geometry to map parcel boundaries and legal descriptions, and maintain the CNO land dataset.
8. Adhere to mandatory procedures to ensure work meets quality standards and complies with external regulations and internal codes of conduct.
9. Continuously develop your skills through available formal and informal training opportunities.
10. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills:
· Valid driver's license
· Basic understanding of GIS principles or experience with ESRI ArcGIS or similar software
· Familiarity with UAS systems and the operational basics
· Ability to handle field data collection using GPS equipment and mobile applications
· FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification (or the ability to obtain within one year)
· Excellent attention to detail

You will create data into the Enterprise GIS and related databases using GIS software. Use ESRI GIS software to create, edit, QA/QC and share geospatial data and other geographic information. Prepare finished digital and paper map products and reports. Print of maps and other geospatial products using large format plotters and laminators. Use mobile applications and GPS equipment for the collecting of field data. ??? Track progress and provide weekly reports to management. Perform other tasks as assigned.
