What You’ll Do

  • Lead safety tailboards and enforce Asplundh’s “Safety First, Always” culture.
  • Execute protective relay testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
  • Validate protection schemes and verify control circuits for breakers, transformers, feeders, and capacitor banks.
  • Perform system event analysis and support outage planning and energization sequences.
  • Guide and oversee on site electrical crews; coordinate activities with project managers and customer teams.
  • Maintain accurate records, test results, and field documentation.
  • Support project estimating, job walks, and customer communication.
  • Train and mentor developing technicians.

Work will be performed at customer sites throughout the assigned region. Ability to travel regularly within the region is required, and the capability to travel outside the region for extended assignments is ideal. Company vehicle provided for workrelated travel within the assigned region.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with protective relaying in substations.
  • Expertise in microprocessor relay testing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of high voltage safety standards and energized work practices.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to work outdoors, travel, and lift 70 lbs.
Education & Credentials
  • NETA Level III or IV Certification is preferred for Senior roles; however, we welcome candidates at other NETA levels for opportunities across the organization.
  • Experience with circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, RTUs, and communications.
  • Technical degree or military electrical training.
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
