Pay: The hourly rate for this position is between $44-$48 per hour. per hour.
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate
Job Summary:
The Electrical Field Test Technician will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated. Technicians will implement safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical substations and transmission switchyards.
- Work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated.
- Performing High, Medium, and Low voltage testing of electrical power equipment.
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
- Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation.
- Position to be performed at various unanticipated locations throughout the state of Arizona.
- Position will report to local office in Gilbert, AZ.
Qualifications
- Requires an Associate’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Technology and 2 years of experience as a NETA Technician, OEM Electrical Equipment Technician, Lineman, or Electrician OR a Powerline Technician Certificate of
- Qualification and 4 years of experience as a NETA Technician, OEM Electrical Equipment Technician, Lineman, or Electrician.
- Have experience in each of the following skills:
- Transformer testing 480v – 500kv+
- Switchgear and PT’s
- Cable testing 600v – 35kv
- Aerial lift and bucket truck work
- MV hot work; and Fall protection usage
