Job Overview
As an Engineering Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting R&D projects and collaborating with cross-functional portfolio teams. You'll be involved in the end-to-end development of hardware prototypes, contributing to the design and assembly of PCB, mechanical components, and software scripts. Your work will include conducting tests and experiments that drive development toward manufacturing readiness, while maintaining thorough documentation and process records to track test data and results. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You'll have opportunities to explore a variety of projects and engage with a talented team of engineers to share knowledge and expertise.
Essential Functions
- Help Design and model components using CAD software, including SolidWorks, for engineering applications.
- Print 3D models and prototypes to support design validation and engineering development.
- Repairing 3D printers to ensure efficient printing and proper Software/ Firmware updates
- Operate CNC milling machines to fabricate precision parts for various engineering projects.
- Collaborate in the fabrication process, ensuring quality control and precision in part creation.
- Soldering wire harnesses and making cables based on minimal documentation
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, contributing to project success.
- Contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of UAV frames for advanced projects.
- Implement and uphold 5S methodology to streamline workflows and develop efficient lean processes.
- Meticulously document testing procedures and data to ensure accuracy and support repeatability in future projects.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate the testing, completion, and optimization of components.
- Assist in building and setting up platforms for both testing and event execution, ensuring functionality and safety.
- Provide support in the development and management of project timelines under the guidance of the lead engineer or program manager.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of engineering and project goals.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing team to help push products to delivery
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Competencies
Understanding and Knowledge in:
- Electrical and Aircraft Systems
- Power and mechanical systems
- UAV and CUAV
- Electrical equipment (O-Scopes, DMM)
- Gas engines
- Electrical motors
- Bamboo studios 3D print software
- Solid Works
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power point, ect.)
- Ability to efficiently collaborate with others
- Ability to obtain new skills quickly
- Ability to work with supervision
Education / Certifications
- Associate degree and 1 years of experience or 2 year of equivalent experience in technical field
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience as an engineering technician or other relevant technical field
- Equivalent documented work experience in lieu of degree may be acceptable
- Experience with CAD software and 3D printing
- Experience with cable wiring for RC planes
